BUILDING SURVEYS

A Full Building Survey formerly referred to as a Structural Survey Report is the most comprehensive and detailed survey available, please do not confuse it with the far less detailed Home Buyers Report.

Full Building Surveys can be used:

• When purchasing the Freehold to a property
• Fault finding
• Planning Applications for property extensions and alterations
• Listed Building Applications
• Building Regulations
• Properties of an unusual construction or properties that have been extensively amended over the years

Covered within a UK Surveyors Building Survey are the following items:

• Chimney pots and stacks, the roof covering, soffits, fascias, gutters and downpipes
• The site, identifying any apparent problems with the boundaries, offering advise on trees that represent a threat to the property
• The roof space, where accessible we will inspect, the internal area of the roof, the insulation, chimney stack and any water installation
• Internal walls for signs of movement, settlement or subsidence
• Property timbers for woodworm infestations and rots
• Drainage, our surveyor will lift inspection chambers to examine the drain runs to investigate any drainage problems
• Damp testing on the walls to the accessible ground floor areas
• Damp proofing where accessible

Our Surveying team are always willing discuss your requirements before visiting the property and will be pleased to discuss any details arising once the inspection has been completed. All of our reports will be supplemented by a number of colour photographs illustrating the property.
